ATFX Review 2026: Costs, Safety, Platforms and Who It Suits
The 60-Second Decision
ATFX is a multi-asset CFD broker with floating, account-dependent pricing and access to MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and AT GO. Its mix of platforms, copy trading and automated-trading tools can suit beginner and intermediate forex/CFD traders, but the right account, leverage and protections depend on the legal entity serving you.
The main trade-off is between account choice and complexity: Standard pricing includes the spread, while Edge pricing can start at zero spread with commission. Before opening an account, check the entity and account terms that apply in your region, especially because minimum deposits and leverage differ by account and jurisdiction.

Broker Profile
| Dimension | Profile |
|---|---|
| Main business model | STP forex and CFD broker. |
| Product focus | Forex, indices, commodities, stock CFDs and cryptocurrency exposure through CFDs. |
| Pricing model | Hybrid: spread-inclusive Standard/Edge pricing and Premium/raw-feed pricing that separates commission from the spread. |
| Automation support | MT4/MT5 Expert Advisors, API trading and VPS hosting are listed; ATFX also offers copy and social trading. |
| Typical customer | Beginner and intermediate forex/CFD traders seeking a choice of platforms and trading tools. |
| Regulation structure | Multi-entity, with entities regulated across several jurisdictions; the client-facing entity depends on location and eligibility. |
| Trading complexity | Medium: account pricing, leverage and protections vary by entity, while spread-only and commission-bearing pricing require different cost comparisons. |
What materially distinguishes it?
- Hybrid account pricing
- Traders can choose between spread-inclusive and raw-spread pricing with added commission; the better fit depends on instrument, trade size and frequency.
- Multi-entity regulatory structure
- The legal entity determines the applicable regulator, client protections and leverage rules, so checking the contracting entity is a practical part of choosing an account.
- Several routes to automated or copied trading
- MT4/MT5 Expert Advisors, API trading, VPS hosting and copy trading provide different ways to automate strategies or follow trades, with full EA development and testing focused on desktop/VPS.

What We Tested — and What We Didn't
Tested directly
- Registration: We went through onboarding. The process felt easy, and an ATFX representative helped us.
- Deposits: We funded the account, and the deposit was very fast.
- Withdrawals: A standard withdrawal was very fast. A separate profit withdrawal from a bonus account led to a much longer compliance dispute, so that case should not be taken as typical.
- Web platform: The website was easy to use.
- Order placement: During a CPI release, an order executed when we expected an off-quotes response. This was one order, not a measure of typical execution quality.
Verified from primary sources
We checked the regulator records identified for the Australian ASIC, Cyprus CySEC, UK FCA, Seychelles FSA, Mauritius FSC, South African FSCA and Hong Kong SFC entities, including their listed licence numbers. The applicable protections and client eligibility differ by entity.
Not independently verified
Our direct account experience does not establish typical execution speed, slippage frequency, rejection rates or the consistency of execution during volatile markets. Slippage is possible. We also did not independently establish liquidity-provider or institutional-execution claims.
03
What Does It Actually Cost?
ATFX uses floating spreads. Its pricing is hybrid: Standard and Edge accounts use spread-inclusive pricing, while Premium/raw-feed pricing separates the spread from commission. The applicable account and terms depend on region, so a minimum spread should not be treated as the typical spread or as the full transaction cost.
Account Pricing
| Account | Minimum Spread | Commission | Minimum Deposit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | From about 0.6 pips | Spread-inclusive pricing; commission details vary by account and product. | $100 |
| Edge | From 0.0 pips | Commission applies; amount depends on account, asset class and trade size. | $100 or region-specific higher threshold |
| Premium | Not consistently published as a current global standalone tier | Raw-feed pricing separates commission from the spread; exact commission depends on account and region. | Region-specific / not consistently published |
Standard EUR/USD spreads average about 1.8 pips, and GBP/USD averages about 2.0 pips. Those averages provide more context than a minimum spread but can still vary with market conditions. The Standard gold spread averages 0.38 points (about 38 pips, or $0.38); the S&P 500 CFD averages 0.56 points.
What the Headline Number Doesn't Tell You
Edge spread from 0.0 pips: This is a minimum, not a typical spread; commission is additional. Compare the total cost with spread-inclusive pricing for your instrument and trade size.
Commission is not one fixed amount across the broker. It may depend on account type, asset class and trade size, and can be charged per lot, side, contract, share or as a percentage. Overnight swaps can also apply to positions held past daily rollover.
Non-Trading Costs
| Fee | Amount | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | - | - |
| Withdrawal | A withdrawal fee can apply. The amount may depend on the withdrawal method, currency, amount, region or transaction frequency. | Applies when the chosen withdrawal method, currency, amount, region or transaction frequency is fee-bearing. |
| Inactivity | Entity-dependent; e.g. $10 AUD/USD/GBP/EUR monthly after 6 months (Australia), or R30/$2 monthly after 6 months (South Africa). | Triggered by the inactivity period and account conditions stated here: Entity-dependent; e.g. $10 AUD/USD/GBP/EUR monthly after 6 months (Australia), or R30/$2 monthly after 6 months (South Africa). |
| Currency conversion | A currency-conversion cost or markup can apply when the deposit, withdrawal, instrument, profit/loss, or settlement currency differs from the account base currency. The exact rate usually depends on entity, product and conversion route. | Applies when a deposit, withdrawal, instrument, P/L or settlement currency differs from the account base currency; rate varies by entity, product and conversion route. |
Cost most worth watching
For frequent traders, compare the Edge commission plus the live spread with the Standard account's spread-inclusive cost. For less active clients, check the entity's inactivity terms and whether a withdrawal will fall below the free-withdrawal threshold.
04
Is ATFX Regulated and Safe?
ATFX operates through separate legal entities. The entity named in the client agreement matters: it determines the regulator, applicable client protections, leverage rules and available complaint or compensation arrangements. Do not assume that the protections attached to one ATFX entity apply to an account opened with another.
Legal Entity Map
| Regulator | License Number | Jurisdiction | Main Protections |
|---|---|---|---|
| ASIC | 418036 | Australia | Australian retail CFD rules apply where the client is retail, including leverage limits, margin close-out and negative-balance protections; professional-client treatment differs. |
| CySEC | 285/15 | EEA / Cyprus | Cyprus/EEA MiFID framework applies. Retail leverage/product rules and investor-protection/complaint arrangements differ from offshore entities; compensation eligibility depends on the entity and client. |
| FCA | 760555 | United Kingdom — professional clients only | The UK FCA entity serves professional clients rather than ordinary retail clients. UK FCA rules apply to eligible clients, but retail protections should not be assumed for a professional classification. |
| FSA (Seychelles) | SD093 | International / Seychelles entity (subject to exclusions) | Local/offshore FSA (Seychelles) framework applies. UK/EU/Australian retail protections and compensation schemes do not automatically apply; leverage, products and dispute routes may differ. |
| FSC (Mauritius) | C118023331 | International / Mauritius entity (subject to exclusions) | Local/offshore FSC (Mauritius) framework applies. UK/EU/Australian retail protections and compensation schemes do not automatically apply; leverage, products and dispute routes may differ. |
| FSCA | 44816 | South Africa (or clients routed to SA entity) | South African FSCA framework applies. Check whether the entity is the product issuer or only an intermediary; protections and product terms can differ materially. |
| SFC | BUM667 | Hong Kong | Hong Kong SFC rules apply. Product scope and investor-compensation eligibility depend on the licensed activities and the products traded. |
Why the entity matters
The Australian entity is AT Global Markets (Australia) Pty Ltd; the Cyprus entity is ATFX Global Markets (Cy) Ltd; the UK entity is AT Global Markets (UK) Limited; the Seychelles entity is AT Global Ltd; the Mauritius entity is AT Global Markets Intl Ltd; the South African entity is AT Global Markets SA (Pty) Ltd; and the Hong Kong entity is AT Global Financial Services (HK) Limited. The UK entity is identified for professional clients only. Entity-specific leverage, retail-client status and compensation eligibility affect the terms a client receives.
Client Protection
ATFX lists client-fund segregation and negative balance protection. Eligible clients may have compensation protection under the relevant entity, including FSCS investment protection up to £85,000 in the UK and Cyprus ICF protection up to €20,000, subject to eligibility. These protections do not remove trading, market or counterparty risk, and they should not be assumed to apply to offshore entities.
05
What Can You Actually Trade?
ATFX's range is primarily leveraged forex and CFD exposure. A stock CFD does not give the trader ownership of the underlying shares or voting rights. Cryptocurrency exposure is also generally through leveraged derivatives rather than ownership of coins in a wallet.
| Asset Class | Available | Approx. Number | Maximum Retail Leverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forex | Yes | 44 | 1:500 |
| Crypto | Yes | 11 | 1:10 |
| Stocks | Yes | ≈250 | 1:10 |
| Indices | Yes | 15+ | 1:100 |
| Commodities | Yes | 11 | 1:500 |
| ETFs | Yes | Entity/platform dependent — count not published | 1:10 |
| Options | No | Not Offered | - |
| Bonds | No | Not Offered | - |
Where the range is strongest
Forex, commodities and indices provide the clearest published instrument counts. The stock CFD range is approximately 250 shares, while ETF CFD availability depends on entity and platform.
Where it is limited
ATFX does not offer bonds or a standard retail options product. Stock and crypto exposure is through CFDs or other leveraged derivatives rather than direct ownership. Instrument access and leverage can vary by legal entity and platform.

Opening, Funding and Withdrawing From the Account
Account Opening
ATFX requires identity verification (KYC). The minimum deposit and client protections depend on account type, region and contracting entity. A demo account with virtual money is also available.
Base account currencies are USD, EUR, GBP and ZAR. Confirm the currency and entity terms before funding, since a currency conversion cost can apply when a payment or trading currency differs from the account base currency.

Execution and Trading Conditions
ATFX is categorized as an STP broker. Its pricing combines spread-inclusive accounts with raw-spread pricing that charges commission separately. The broker's STP classification does not by itself establish typical execution speed or the quality of execution for an individual order. Slippage is possible.
Leverage depends on the instrument, account and legal entity. Instrument-level maximum retail leverage is listed as 1:500 for forex and commodities, 1:100 for indices, and 1:10 for stocks and crypto. The general maximum leverage figure is 1:400, so clients should confirm the limit for their own entity and product before trading.
For standard retail setups, the margin call level is 100% and the stop-out level is 50%. ATFX permits hedging, scalping and news trading without restrictions according to its stated trading rules. Swap charges can apply to eligible positions held beyond daily rollover; commodity and index products can also have trading breaks or rollover-related costs.

Before You Open an Account
Check these three things first
- Your legal entity: Confirm the contracting entity in your account terms and check which regulator, client protections and leverage rules apply to your client classification.
- Your likely trading cost: Compare the spread and any commission for your chosen account and instruments, then include overnight swaps, currency conversion, withdrawal charges and any entity-specific inactivity fee.
- Your product/account requirements: Confirm the minimum deposit, instrument access and leverage in your region, particularly if you need ETFs or direct ownership rather than CFD exposure.
Bottom line
ATFX is primarily suited to forex and CFD traders who value a choice of platforms and account pricing. The entity-specific terms are the main reason to check the contract and costs carefully before funding.
