FXGT Review 2026: Costs, Safety, Platforms and Who It Suits

Written By: Nicola Moretti

The 60-Second Decision

FXGT is most relevant to forex and crypto-CFD traders who want a choice of account pricing, MT4 or MT5 automation, and high leverage where their legal entity and account permit it. Its account range combines spread-based pricing with an ECN Zero option that adds a separate commission.

The main trade-off is that leverage, account terms and protections depend on the entity serving you. Before funding, identify that entity and compare the account’s minimum spread with its commission, financing and funding costs.

  • An inactivity fee applies after 90 days, and currency conversion can add costs.

What We Tested — and What We Didn't

Tested directly

  • Registration: The onboarding went smoothly.
  • Identity verification: Verification itself was smooth, but we were surprised by the funding limits shown afterward.
  • Deposit: After verification, the minimum deposit was higher than expected.
  • Withdrawal: In our test, withdrawals were fast.
  • Web platform: We could access the platform in a browser. Having to use Chrome or Safari made a dedicated login app feel preferable.

Verified from primary sources

The legal-entity references and licence numbers are set out in the entity map, with links to the relevant regulator pages. The direct-experience observations above are separate from those regulatory references.

Not independently verified

We did not independently measure execution speed, slippage or order-rejection rates. FXGT’s claims of rapid execution and Tier-1 liquidity providers remain broker claims, not results established by our platform observations.

What Does It Actually Cost?

Account Pricing

AccountMinimum SpreadCommissionMinimum Deposit
ECN ZEROFrom 0.0 pipsForex: $3 per side ($6 round turn) per lot; precious metals: up to $5 round turn; crypto: 0.1% round turn.$100
MiniFrom 1.5 pipsCommission-freeNot separately stated in current comparison snippet
OptimusFrom 0.8 pipsCommission-free$0 published balance threshold
ProFrom 0.5 pipsCommission-free$100
StandardFrom 1.3 pipsCommission-free$0 published balance threshold

FXGT uses floating spreads. The figures above are minimum spreads, not typical or guaranteed trading costs. The broker’s average quoted spreads include 1.4 pips for EUR/USD and 1.7 pips for GBP/USD, illustrating why a minimum alone is not a reliable estimate of the cost on a particular trade.

ECN Zero separates the spread from commission: a forex trade at the quoted rate costs $3 per side, or $6 round turn per lot. Commission-free accounts instead build their trading cost into spreads. FXGT also lists Standard+ among its commission-free accounts, while the account spread comparison uses Standard; account names and terms should be checked for the entity and account actually offered to you.

The published $0 balance threshold for Standard and Optimus is not the same as the amount required to fund an account. FXGT’s practical minimums range from $5 to $100 depending on account and payment method: Mini and Standard+ accounts are listed at $5–$10, PRO and ECN Zero at $100, and Cent accounts at $0–$5. Payment-method minimums include $5 for Neteller or Sticpay, $10 for Bitwallet, $50 for cards and Apple/Google Pay, and $100 for bank transfers. These figures are not a single universal minimum.

What the Headline Number Doesn't Tell You

ECN Zero spreads from 0.0 pips

What that doesn't tell you:
The spread is a minimum and ECN Zero adds a separate commission. For forex, that commission is $3 per side per lot; the total cost therefore includes both the spread at execution and the round-turn commission.

Non-Trading Costs

Inactivity90 days inactivity: $20 fee once; then $10 per month until activity resumes.Triggered by the inactivity period and account conditions stated here: 90 days inactivity: $20 fee once; then $10 per month until activity resumes.
Currency conversionA currency-conversion cost or markup can apply when the deposit, withdrawal, instrument, profit/loss, or settlement currency differs from the account base currency. The exact rate usually depends on entity, product and conversion route.Applies when a deposit, withdrawal, instrument, P/L or settlement currency differs from the account base currency; rate varies by entity, product and conversion route.

Overnight financing is another cost to include when positions remain open past rollover. Rates depend on instrument, size, direction, benchmark or interest rates and the number of nights. FXGT also applies swap-free allowances on some accounts: the PRO account provides six days for FX majors and minors and three days for CHF pairs, while FX exotics and JPY pairs are charged immediately. Mini, Standard and ECN accounts are charged swaps daily; Islamic accounts are available, although administrative fees may apply after the stated swap-free period.

Cost most worth watching

For occasional traders, the inactivity schedule is easy to overlook: a $20 charge follows 90 days without activity, then $10 monthly. For active traders, compare the full spread-plus-commission cost on ECN Zero with the floating spread on a commission-free account, and account for overnight financing and currency conversion where relevant.

Legal Entity Map

FSCA48896South Africa (or clients routed to SA entity)South African FSCA framework applies. Check whether the entity is the product issuer or only an intermediary; protections and product terms can differ materially.
VFSC (Vanuatu)700601International / Vanuatu entity (subject to exclusions)Local/offshore VFSC (Vanuatu) framework applies. UK/EU/Australian retail protections and compensation schemes do not automatically apply; leverage, products and dispute routes may differ.

FXGT identifies GT Investment Services Ltd as the Cyprus/EEA contracting entity, GT Global Ltd for the Seychelles entity, GT IO Markets (Pty) Ltd for South Africa, and GT Global Markets Ltd for Vanuatu. The corresponding regulator references are CySEC, the Seychelles FSA, the FSCA and the VFSC.

Why the entity matters

Your contracting entity determines which regulatory framework and dispute arrangements apply. FXGT states that its maximum leverage is subject to account, asset and dynamic equity limits, and the applicable protections differ by entity. The international entities do not automatically provide UK, EU or Australian retail protections or compensation schemes. Check the entity named in your account agreement rather than relying on the brand name alone.

Client Protection

FXGT says it segregates client funds and provides negative balance protection. It also cites a 40% capital adequacy ratio and liability insurance of up to €1,000,000. These protections do not remove market, counterparty or trading risk. FXGT identifies no investor compensation scheme.

Forex is the broadest listed category at 54 instruments; the range also includes about 58 crypto instruments. Crypto and stock exposure is generally through leveraged derivatives rather than ownership of coins or shares. Stock CFD holders do not own shares or receive voting rights. ETF CFD availability depends on entity and platform.

Where the range is strongest

The listed range combines forex with crypto CFDs, commodities, indices and stock CFDs. The maximum leverage figures are asset-class ceilings, not guaranteed account settings: actual leverage can be lower based on legal entity, account, instrument and equity.

Where it is limited

FXGT does not offer bonds or a standard retail options product. Stock CFDs provide price exposure rather than ownership, and ETF CFD access is entity- and platform-dependent.

Core Experience

FXGT Trader runs in a browser with TradingView charts, multiple chart windows, saved layouts and smart auto-close orders designed to lock in profits or cap losses. MT4 and MT5 are also available on desktop, web and mobile.

Charting

FXGT Trader integrates TradingView charts with more than 90 drawing tools and chart types including Renko, Heikin Ashi and Kagi. Its multi-chart windows let traders monitor several markets at once.

Advanced Features

MT4 supports MQL4 Expert Advisors and MT5 supports MQL5 Expert Advisors and strategy testing on desktop or VPS environments. FXGT says it does not offer direct API trading. Its VPS sponsorship is free for eligible active traders with a minimum $3,000 balance (or currency equivalent) and at least 5 GT Lots of monthly trading volume, where one GT Lot equals $100,000 in trading volume.

FXGT also offers copy trading. Copiers can follow up to four strategies and providers can create up to three; copy accounts operate in USD, do not qualify for promotional bonuses, and do not provide direct trading access to copiers.

Mobile Experience

The FXGT App is available for iOS and Android for manual trading, position monitoring, alerts and account management. MT4 and MT5 also have mobile versions, while their full EA and custom-code environments are desktop/VPS-centric.

Main Platform Trade-Off

Best aspect: The platform range covers browser-based discretionary trading and desktop MT4/MT5 automation.

Main friction point: Programmable strategy development and testing are best suited to MT4/MT5 desktop or VPS environments, rather than the proprietary browser platform or mobile app.

Execution and Trading Conditions

4.1/5

FXGT identifies its broker type as STP/ECN and describes market execution. It says it works with Tier-1 liquidity providers for rapid execution, including during volatile markets; that is a broker claim rather than an independently measured execution result. Slippage is possible.

FXGT allows scalping, news trading and hedging within a single trading account. It prohibits hedging across multiple accounts or with other brokers. MT4 and MT5 support automated trading through Expert Advisors; the broker does not offer direct API trading.

The maximum leverage is account- and instrument-dependent. The Optimus account offers up to 1:5000 subject to trading-activity requirements, typically at least eight trades and 5 GT Lots or more. Pro, Standard+, Mini and ECN Zero accounts offer up to 1:1000. FXGT also describes dynamic equity-based limits: for standard FX pairs, the examples are up to 1:200 at equity of $0–$10,000, up to 1:100 at $10,001–$30,000, and up to 1:50 above $30,000. Asset class and entity can impose further limits.

The margin call level is 70%, and stop-out is 40%. Overnight swaps may apply to positions held past daily rollover, usually at 24:00 server time (GMT+3). Rates vary by instrument, size, direction and market conditions; FXGT says triple swaps generally apply on Wednesdays. Swap-free terms and administrative fees depend on account and holding period.

Before You Open an Account

Check these three things first

  1. Your legal entity: Confirm the contracting entity in your account agreement and check which regulator framework, leverage limits and complaint arrangements apply to it.
  2. Your likely trading cost: Compare floating spreads with ECN Zero commission, and factor in overnight swaps, currency conversion and inactivity fees if the account may sit unused.
  3. Your product/account requirements: Confirm that your preferred account, instrument and platform are available to your location, and distinguish stock CFDs from share ownership.

Bottom line

FXGT is primarily suited to forex and crypto-CFD traders who value several account types and MT4/MT5 automation. The entity-specific protections and account-dependent costs are the main details to settle before opening an account.

012 — FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About

Is FXGT regulated?

FXGT has entities regulated by CySEC in Cyprus, the Seychelles FSA, South Africa’s FSCA and Vanuatu’s VFSC. The contracting entity depends on client location and routing, so the applicable regulator, protections and dispute arrangements vary by the entity named in the account agreement.

Is FXGT safe?

FXGT says it segregates client funds and provides negative balance protection. It also cites liability insurance of up to €1,000,000. These broker-stated protections do not eliminate trading or counterparty risk, and FXGT identifies no investor compensation scheme. Check which legal entity holds your account and which protections apply to it.

What is the minimum deposit?

The practical minimum depends on account and payment method. FXGT’s minimums are $5–$10 for Mini and Standard+, $100 for PRO and ECN Zero, and $0–$5 for Cent. Payment thresholds are $5 for Neteller or Sticpay, $10 for Bitwallet, $50 for cards and Apple/Google Pay, and $100 for bank transfers.

Does FXGT charge commission?

Commission depends on account. Mini, Standard+, PRO and Optimus are commission-free, with costs built into spreads. ECN Zero has spreads from 0.0 pips plus commission: forex costs $3 per side ($6 round turn) per lot, precious metals up to $5 round turn, and crypto 0.1% round turn.

Does it offer MT4 or MT5?

Yes. FXGT offers MT4 and MT5 on desktop, web and mobile. Both support Expert Advisors, while full custom-code development and automated strategy testing are desktop/VPS-centric. FXGT also offers its own browser-based FXGT Trader and the FXGT App for iOS and Android.

How long do withdrawals take?

FXGT gives a method-dependent estimate of instant to seven business days for cards, e-wallets, bank transfers and local/QR payments. The exact timing appears in the Client Portal. This is the stated processing range; settlement time can depend on the payment method and provider.
